About the My Account Tab
Click on the My Account tab to open the tab to see a list of
the actions you can take.

Clicking on a link on the My Account page will take you to the page for
that action.
You can also use the links in the tab menu bar to jump to some actions.

Email settings
-
If you wish to change your email address, enter a valid email address at which
you can receive email – not necessarily the same one used by your eBay account.

In the Cell Phone / Pager address field you can
enter a secondary address used for some notification options. It is
optional and can be left blank. Please use the following format to provide
cellphone/pager numbers: 555-555-5555@domain
.

Unless you specify to receive Buyer Manager emails in text format by checking
the Receive Plain Text Emails
check box, emails will be sent in HTML format. We suggest HTML format to allow
for search list display in the emails but plain text can be accommodated by all
email systems.

Check Send outbid notifications to my cell phone/pager
if you want email notifications to be sent to both your normal and mobile
notification addresses.

You can also choose to receive win and loss notifications at your mobile
address by selecting the appropriate radio button.

Check Send Outbid notifications
to get outbid email notifications.

Check Send Auction Status at Close of Auction
to receive auction status reports a the end of auctions.

Check Send me email news about BuyerTool
if you want to recieve the BuyerTool newsletter.

Click on the Update button to save your selections.

Changing your Password
This is the password for your Buyer Tool account. It does not have to be the
same as your eBay account.

Enter your current password

Enter your new password Confirm your new password by entering it again

Click on the Update button to save the change

InstaMail Setup
-
Turning on this feature will automatically email the seller of any auction that
you win with your message and a shipping address of your choice
-
Click on the checkbox to turn on and off the InstaMail feature

Select the shipping address to be sent to the seller from the drop down list

Click on the MyAddresses link to switch to the page that allows you to enter
new addresses to the list

Personalize the text of the Instamail sent to sellers by typing it into the
Custom Message text box. Your comments will be appended to the standard
InstalMail text

Click on the Update button to save your changes

Default Preferences
You can choose some basic settings for each of the regions of Buyer Tool –
Searches, Watches, Wins and Bids. We’ve set some initial values so you can
start using the system. Come back here at any time and change these defaults to
set the page to the view you want when you first open the region’s tab. And,
you can change the Folder, View and items per page settings at any time while
you are working on the page.
Bids
-
Select your Default Bid Folder
from the drop down list of all your Bids folders

Choose whether you want to initially view Active Items, Ending Today, Ended
Items, Won Items, Lost Items or All Items from the Default Bids View
drop down list.

Select the Default Bids per page to display from the drop down
list
Watches
-
Select your Default Watches Folder
from the drop down list of all your Watches folders
-
Choose whether you want to initially view Active Items, Ending Today, Ended
Items, Won Items, Lost Items or All Items from the Default Watches View
drop down list.

Select the Default Watches per page to display from the drop
down list
Wins
-
Select your Default Wins Folder
from the drop down list of all your Wins folders

Select the Default Wins per page to display from the drop down

Searches

Select your Default Searches Folder

Choose whether you want to initially view Enabled Searches, Disabled Searches,
or All Searches from the Default Searches View
drop down list.

Timezone
Setting the timezone preferences affect how the countdown to auction end will be
displayed on active items. This is the value that looks like: 3h37m46s For
example, if you are in the Eastern US, there will be a three hour difference
between your PC and the eBay servers. If we know what your timezone is, the
countdown will look the same as if you were in the same timezone as the eBay
servers.

Select your Timezone
from the drop down list

Click on the Adjust for Daylight Savings Time
checkbox if your PC timer is adjusted for daylight savings

Choose how often you want the countdown to be updated on your Bids and Watches
by selecting from the Countdown for End Time drop down list

Never
means that the counter always shows the auction End Date and Time
-
During Last 2 Hours
means that the counter you see will update constantly during the last 2 hours
of the auction

Always means the counter you see will update constantly
whenever you are logged in, showing the remaining days, hours, etc.

When you are ready to save your changes click on the Update button

Regenerating your eBay Token
It is possible that the token required by Buyer Tool to perform actions on the
eBay system on your behalf could become invalidated. When this happens you will
need to regenerate the token for your account.
Click on the Generate eBay Token button to start the
regeneration process. You will be presented with the eBay sign in screen. After
you sign in to eBay, eBay asks for your explicit consent to the sharing of the
information. Once you click on the Agree and Continue button, the token is
created and you are switched back to the Buyer Tool My Account screen.

Changing or adding a shipping address
Click on the Update Addresses link to go to a form where you
can change your shipping address(es). The billing address for your account is
the default shipping address, but you can add, remove, and edit your shipping
addresses from the Update Addresses page.
Click on the Update address link in the list. This will take
you to a page listing your current shipping address.
To Change a shipping address
-
Click on the Edit
button next to the address listing.

Change the information in the appropriate text box(es)

Click on the Update
button to save your changes

Click on Done button at bottom of form to exit the page.
To Add a shipping address
-
Enter the new address information into the text boxes on the lower part of the
page. United States is the default Country entry, but you can change this by
selecting another country from the drop down list.

Click on the Add
button at the bottom of the page.

Add another shipping address if you wish
-
Click on the Done button at bottom of page to save the change
and exit the page
To Delete a shipping address
-
Click on the Delete
button next to the address listing.

Click on Done button at bottom of page to save the change and
exit the page.
